King of Terrors - President (2025)
E' arrivato il momento di occuparmi dei President, una band inglese completamente anonima e mascherata, formatasi quest'anno, già in odore di Industry plant (band o musicisti arrivati al contratto grazie a favoritismi, o addirittura costruite/i a tavolino). In effetti, la loro popolarità è estremamente sospetta (il loro primo live show è stato al Download Festival, e in pratica non avevano fatto uscire ancora niente), ma andiamo al dunque: questo è il loro EP di debutto, e possiamo riassumerlo così, a livello musicale: decisamente ispirati agli Sleep Token, dei quali estremizzano il lato pop, trap e "autotuned", e pure un po' ai Ghost. Sei tracce ottimamente composte e suonate in modo impeccabile, che rientrano in questa nuova tendenza, abbracciata anche da diverse band provenienti dal metalcore, che ingloba elementi pop e trap. Si ascoltano che è un piacere: vediamo dove arrivano.
It's time to focus on President, a completely anonymous and masked English band formed this year, already rumbling about being an Industry plant (bands or musicians signed through favoritism, or even fabricated). Indeed, their popularity is extremely suspect (their first live show was at Download Festival, and they hadn't released anything yet), but let's cut to the chase: this is their debut EP, and musically speaking, it's definitely inspired by Sleep Token, taking their pop, trap, and "autotuned" influences to the extreme, and even a little bit by Ghost. Six beautifully composed and impeccably performed tracks, part of this new trend, also embraced by several bands from the metalcore scene, which incorporates elements of pop and trap. They're a pleasure to listen to: let's see where they end up.
