Dalla solita segnalazione per passaparola, scopro la band in questione, che viene da Detroit, Michigan, ed è al secondo album (il debutto era Americanxiety del 2022). Da qualche parte ho letto che il loro genere veniva definito "metallic hardcore", e trovo perfettamente calzante la definizione, contrariamente alla usuale contrazione metalcore, perché si sentono molto bene le due grosse influenze che si fondono, regalando un album durissimo ma assolutamente piacevole, per orecchie abituate al versante pesante della musica. In alcuni momento mi è sembrato di sentire una versione più (appunto) metal dei Touché Amoré.
Through the usual word-of-mouth recommendation, I discovered this band from Detroit, Michigan, and they're on their second album (their debut was 2022's Americanxiety). I read somewhere that their genre was described as "metallic hardcore," and I find this definition perfectly fitting, contrary to the usual contraction of metalcore, because the two major influences blend together very clearly, resulting in a very hard-hitting yet thoroughly enjoyable album, especially for ears accustomed to the heavier side of music. At times, I felt like I was hearing a more (precisely) metal version of Touché Amoré.
