Tredicesimo disco per la cantautrice statunitense, mia vecchia passione, autrice di alcuni dischi bellissimi tra la seconda metà degli anni '90 e gli inizi degli '00, poi passata a cose molto più mainstream. Questo Freewheelin' Woman, dove a livello di liriche abbraccia, a modo suo, il female empowerment, è il suo primo negli anni '20 del 2000, a quasi sette anni di distanza dal precedente, ed è, spiace dirlo, un disco innocuo di pop-americana, con comparsate dei Train e di Darius Rucker, con un mix di stili che lo rende ancor più inconcepibile. Un vero peccato, perché le doti vocali di Jewel Kilcher, si sente qua e là, sono ancora intatte.

This Freewheelin' Woman, where at the level of lyrics embraces female empowerment in its own way, is his first in the 20s of 2000, almost seven years after the previous one, and is, sorry to say, a harmless record of Pop-Americana, with appearances by Train and Darius Rucker, with a mix of styles that makes it even more inconceivable. A real shame, because Jewel Kilcher's vocal skills, you can hear them here and there, are still intact.
