Pharresia - Animal As Leaders (2022)
Quinto disco per il trio di Washington, D.C., del quale vi avevo parlato in occasione della ri-edizione del loro album di debutto omonimo. Per riassumere, siamo di fronte ad una band che suona musica strumentale, composta da tre musicisti estremamente tecnici e bravissimi, che amano il metal e prediligono le sonorità del djent, e del rock progressivo affrontato in maniera moderna. Passando il tutto attraverso un'attitudine jazz e però provando a racchiudere le idee dentro alcune forme-canzoni, Pharresia irrobustisce le parti metal, prova a risultare accessibile, ma rimane comunque un esercizio di stile.
Fifth disc for the trio from Washington, D.C., of which I told you on the occasion of the re-edition of their self-titled debut album. To sum up, we are faced with a band that plays instrumental music, composed of three extremely technical and talented musicians, who love metal and prefer the sounds of djent, and progressive rock faced in a modern way. Pharresia strengthens the metal parts, tries to be accessible, but still remains an exercise in style.
