Bronco - Orville Peck (2022)
Diciamolo chiaramente: al difficile secondo disco, l'affascinante figura del Lone Ranger gay canadese Orville Peck, delude chi si aspettava un proseguimento del percorso country / dark wave del suo bel debutto Pony, mentre ne abbraccia uno mainstream (avvalendosi di Jay Joyce alla produzione), che, intendiamoci, potrebbe portarlo al grande successo e al grande pubblico. La sua voce è induscutibilmente bellissima (aggiungiamo Elvis alle similitudini già usate nelle recensioni del primo album e dell'EP di passaggio), ed il prodotto è molto bello, seppur levigato e glamour: se vogliamo dirla tutta, l'unica trasgressione sta nelle liriche, apertamente gay, cosa mai vista nel country, ma (fortunatamente) oggi non più tabù. Quando i ritmi si fanno più lenti, fa ancora vibrare di emozione, ma nel suo complesso, il prodotto risulta un po' troppo "leccato".

His voice is indisputably beautiful (let's add Elvis to the similarities already used in the reviews of the first album and the passing EP), and the product is very beautiful, albeit smooth and glamorous: if we want to be honest, the only transgression is in the lyrics , openly gay, something never seen in country music, but (fortunately) today no longer taboo. When the rhythms get slower, it still vibrates with emotion, but overall, the product is a little too mannered.
