Esce su disco la performance in streaming dell'11 dicembre 2021 degli Architects. Si tratta dell'esecuzione per intero, e nello stesso ordine della track list originale, dell'album del 2021, tutti riarrangiati nella versione orchestrale, a cura della Parallax Orchestra. Ora, il disco a mio giudizio era già bellissimo, e operazioni del genere sono sempre rischiose, perché certamente, per quanto si voglia trovare molto figo il fatto che il metal si sposta con la sinfonica, spesso si capisce che da una parte, le canzoni proprio non si sposano con le parti orchestrali, e dall'altra, gli arrangiamenti sono tirati via. Non siamo alla quasi perfezione del Requiem dei Triptykon, ma si capisce che le due parti si sono impegnate. Mi viene pure da pensare che la maestria degli Architects per le melodie abbia fatto si che le cose siano state più semplici, ma forse è solo la simpatia che ho per loro che me lo fa dire. Fatto sta che il disco è estremamente godibile, e credo sia un passo importante, ma pure coraggioso, che la band inglese ha portato a termine, e spero serva loro ad ampliare ancor di più la loro audience.

The streaming performance of the Architects on 11 December 2021 is now released on disc. This is the full performance, and in the same order as the original tracklist, of the 2021 album, all rearranged in the orchestral version, by the Parallax Orchestra. Now, in my opinion the record was already beautiful, and such operations are always risky, because certainly, as much as you want to find very cool the fact that metal "marries" the symphonic, it is often understood that on the one hand, the songs they just don't marry with the orchestral parts, and on the other hand, the arrangements are pulled away. We are not at the near perfection of the Triptykon Requiem, but we understand that the two sides are committed. It also makes me think that the Architects' mastery of melodies has meant that things have been simpler, but maybe it's just the sympathy I have for them that makes me say it. The fact is that the album is extremely enjoyable, and I think it is an important step, but also courageous, that the English band has completed, and I hope it will serve them to expand their audience even more.
