Persona - Selah Sue (2022)

Uno dei pochi casi di artisti musicali dei quali ho ascoltato e "recensito" (ci metto sempre le virgolette perché riconosco i miei limiti) tutti gli album, Selah Sue, all'anagrafe Sanne Greet A. Putseys, belga originaria di un villaggio (meno di 5mila abitanti) tra Bruxelles e Leuven, una passione sfrenata ed evidente per la black music, qui al suo terzo lavoro in 11 anni, spiace dirlo ma si capisce che ha lavorato molto, ma ancora non riesce, nonostante le potenzialità e soprattutto una voce spettacolare, a convincere fino in fondo. Molte collaborazioni internazionali, un disco aggiuntivo con alcuni remix o versioni alternative, ma troppi riempitivi, troppe tracce inutili o quasi, e ripeto, è un vero peccato, perché la voce e l'uso che ne riesce a fare è davvero formidabile.

Putseys, Belgian originally from a village (less of 5 thousand inhabitants) between Brussels and Leuven, an unbridled and evident passion for black music, here at her third album in 11 years, sorry to say but we understand that she has worked a lot, but still does not succeed, despite the potential and above all a spectacular voice, to fully convince. Many international collaborations, an additional disc with some remixes or alternative versions, but too many fillers, too many useless tracks or almost, and I repeat, it is a real shame, because the voice and the use that she can make of it is truly formidable.
