Al quinto disco, la band olandese capitanata dalla cantante e compositrice Milena Eva, mettono a segno un'evoluzione che non si esaurisce solamente nel cambio di nome (a detta della band, per semplificare la ricerca sull'Internet, peccato esista pure una band che si chiama in modo simile) da GOLD a GGGOLDDD, bensì sfocia in un disco gigantesco, pare nato quasi su commissione da parte degli organizzatori del Roadburn. Una sorta di concept che racconta un fatto, probabilmente realmente accaduto alla cantante (è facile capire di cosa si tratti, ripensando anche alla copertina del disco precedente e considerando attentamente il titolo di questo), e al tempo stesso, lavorando sul loro approccio musicale, che si arricchisce moltissimo rispetto al precedente. Non c'è più solo blackgaze, non ci si limita ad un incontro tra Alcest ed i Portishead, non è possibile definire questo disco solo metal, c'è molto di più, ed è un qualcosa che riempie le orecchie in maniera profonda, ed al tempo stesso la voce di Eva accarezza lo spettatore ma lo colpisce allo stomaco con le sue liriche potenti e liberatorie. Un grande disco.

On the fifth album, the Dutch band led by singer and composer Milena Eva, bring about an evolution that does not end only in the change of name (according to the band, to simplify the search on the Internet, too bad there is also a band that it's called in a similar way) from GOLD to GGGOLDDD, but it results in a gigantic record, apparently born almost on commission by the Roadburn organizers. A sort of concept that tells a fact that probably actually happened to the singer (it is easy to understand what it is, also rethinking the cover of the previous album and carefully considering the title of this one), and at the same time, working on their musical approach, which is greatly enriched compared to the previous one. There is no longer just blackgaze, it is not limited to a meeting between Alcest and Portishead, it is not possible to define this record as just metal, there is much more, and it is something that fills the ears in a profound way, and at the same time Eva's voice caresses the spectators but hits them in the stomach with her powerful and liberating lyrics. A great record.
