La decisione di una giovane dottoressa saudita di candidarsi alle elezioni locali della sua città, costringe la sua famiglia e la sua comunità ad accettare la prima candidata donna della loro città.
La regista saudita "torna" in patria (ha vissuto in Bahrain e poi in California, ma soprattutto, gli ultimi due film non erano ambientati in Arabia Saudita) dopo il bell'esordio con Wadjda, e con il suo solito stile, mai complicato e che spesso fa venire il sorriso sulle labbra, anche se affronta il tema fondamentale dei diritti delle donne, gira un altro film davvero bello, che trasmette gioia, ben fatto e ben recitato.
The Saudi director "returns" to her homeland (she lived in Bahrain and then in California, but above all, the last two films were not set in Saudi Arabia) after her beautiful debut with Wadjda, and with her usual style, never complicated and which often brings a smile to the lips, even if it addresses the fundamental issue of women's rights, makes another really beautiful film, which conveys joy, well done and well acted.
