Carnival of Killers - Macabre (2020)

Se non ho sbagliato a contare, questo dovrebbe essere il sesto album della band di Chicago, Illinois, una band che ascolto per la prima volta con Carnival of Killers, e che mi ha ricordato moltissimo gli svedesi Avatar. Ovviamente qua l'approccio tematico è tutto spostato verso il gore ed i serial killer, sempre con un umorismo macabro, ma lo stile è una sorta di patchwork metal che si, fa sorridere a livello lirico, ma spiazza e convince poco a livello musicale, seppure regali qualche momento godibile.

If I am not mistaken, this should be the sixth album by the band from Chicago, Illinois, a band I listen to for the first time with Carnival of Killers, and which reminded me very much the Swedish band Avatar. Obviously here the thematic approach is all shifted towards gore and serial killers, always with a macabre humor, but the style is a sort of patchwork metal that makes you smile on a lyrical level, but displaces and convinces little at a musical level, even if you give some enjoyable moments.
