Perfect - Mannequin Pussy (2021)

Questo EP contenente cinque tracce, per la band di Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, è (anche in questo caso), il disco col quale mi avvicino a loro per la prima volta. Band piuttosto giovane, che ha già subito un paio di cambi di formazione, il cui genere è un indie rock influenzato dal punk, influenza che esce prepotente in Pigs Is Pigs, traccia dove, mi sembra di intuire, canta il bassista Colin anziché, come di solito, la chitarrista/cantante Marisa (unico membro superstite di tutti i cambi di formazione). Le altre tracce sono più delicate, a tratti perfino shoegaze, e non sono per niente male. La curiosità da sottolineare è che due tracce (non da questo EP) dei Mannequin Pussy sono state usate nella serie Mare of Easttown, ed "attribuite" alla band fittizia Androgynous, quella capitanata dalla figlia della protagonista.

This five-track EP, for the band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is (once again), the record with which I approach them for the first time. Pretty young band, which has already undergone a couple of line-up changes, whose genre is an indie rock influenced by punk, an influence that comes out overwhelmingly in Pigs Is Pigs, a track where, I seem to guess, the bassist Colin sings instead, like usually, guitarist/singer Marisa (the only surviving member of all line-up changes). The other tracks are more delicate, even shoegaze at times, and they're not bad at all. The curiosity to point out is that two tracks (not from this EP) of Mannequin Pussy were used in the Mare of Easttown series, and "attributed" to the fictional band Androgynous, the one led by the daughter of the protagonist.
