1977 - Ana Tijoux (2010)

Un'altra artista della quale volevo parlarvi già da un po', è la cileno-francese Anamaría Tijoux Merino, conosciuta con il nome d'arte di Ana (o Anita) Tijoux. Nata a Lille, Francia, da due esiliati cileni in fuga dal regime di Pinochet, si trasferisce a Parigi a 5 anni, e l'anno seguente, nel 1983, conosce il Cile per una visita ai suoi nonni. Nel 1988 si avvicina all'hip-hop inizialmente come ballerina, tramite Consuelo Vergara, torna in Cile e vi si stabilisce nel 1993, e nel 1995 comincia a rappare seriamente con una band tutta sua (Los Gemelos), insieme ad un altro rapper cileno, Zaturno. Nel 1997 partecipa alla registrazione del brano La medicina dei Los Tetas, prima esperienza in studio, e si unisce ai Makiza, cominciando a scrivere liriche socialmente impegnate, dettaglio che la contraddistinguerà costantemente; nel 2006 comincia la sua carriera solista, si muove spesso tra Cile e Francia (le ultime notizie la danno a Parigi con suo marito Jon Grandcamp, musicista francese, e i loro due figli; da quello che si legge, la Francia è stata spesso usata dall'artista come rifugio dalla notorietà, e nel Paese transalpino ha lavorato come cameriera, bidella, sondaggista). Questo 1977 è il suo album di maggior successo, è uscito nel 2010, ed è un disco elegante, un hip hop che scivola nel jazz e nell'RNB, la voce di Tijoux è versatile, riesce ad essere ferma e delicata a seconda delle tracce, i contenuti sono importanti, e spesso, le melodie sono molto orecchiabili senza essere scontate. 

Another artist I've been wanting to tell you about for a while is the Chilean-French Anamaría Tijoux Merino, known by her stage name Ana (or Anita) Tijoux.
